Happy pancake day =]

Hi guys,
So today is pancake day so I thought I would post on here the pancake recipe that I will be using tonight. I got this recipe from my dad and he always used to make me great pancakes when I was younger =].

Now this recipe says that it makes 12-14 pancakes in an 18cm pan  but I guess it depends on how think you like your pancakes.

110 g plain flour
pinch of salt
2 eggs
200 ml milk + 75 ml of water.

My dad used to always melt a knob of butter in the microwave and use a pastry brush (make sure it doesn't melt) to line the pan with butter before each pancake.

Unfortunately my boyfriend is ill at them moment with a cold although he claims it's man flu. So I made him a drink of honey and lemon, which he said made his throat feel a lot better.

To make it I just added the juice of half a lemon to a tablespoon of honey and topped up the mug with some boiling water. As you can see I used sainsbury's basics honey which is sooo cheap and in my opinion just as nice as the expensive stuff =].

Hope everyone eats lots of pancakes tonight I know I will.
I will let you know how they turn out. My boyfriend has the job of flipper so we'll see how that goes.

Lots of love

My first post =]

Hi guys,
OK so this is my first attempt at blogging and I have decided to share all my cooking experiences with you. I am 20 and currently a student and am cooking on a students budget at the moment, so sorry there won't be loads of gourmet food on here.

My first attempt of something kind of fancy was an earl grey chocolate fudge cake. I got the recipe for this from my friends book 'Gizzis kitchen magic' by Gizzi Erskine. The cake was actually surprisingly easy to make and turned out very well, (I live with seven other students and was gone pretty quickly) which I took as a good sign. The only negative thing I would say is about the earl grey cream. I felt that the cream cheese used to make it tasted a bit weird in the cake, if I made it again, (which I probably will) I would omit the cream cheese filling and perhaps just use a butter-cream one instead.
I also did not make the earl grey gold dust as living in a student house we do not own a pestle and mortar.

I have included a picture of the cake however this is not the one I made as I didn't take any photos. The one I made was identical though except for the gold dust on the top.
I'm sorry I haven't included any pictures of my actual cake I promise there will be pictures with the next recipe. the recipe is written in the recipe tab

Thanks for reading =]
If you made this cake let me know how it turned out and if you liked it?
