Thursday Wishlist #8 - Pastel Jeans

Hey guys
My wishlist today is centered around some pastel jeans. I want some so bad but I don't have many clothes I could wear them with.

The ones in this post are blue but I'd also love some lilac ones. I've ordered some from the Topshop sale but I find it so hard to find trousers that fit me. I'm only just over 5ft so the only ones that fit me are in the petite sections.

I ordered a pink pair from ASOS which arrived today. However I am a bit annoyed with the petite sizing. I ordered a size 8 from the petite section and a size 8 in a blue pair which were not petite. The pair which were not petite fitted me perfectly in the waist but as I expected the length was just way too long. The petite pair were the perfect length for me but were too tight around the waist even though they were the SAME SIZE. I am pretty annoyed by this, they are both made by ASOS so why should one pair be smaller than the other. I have the same problem in Topshop, I find that the petite clothes are always smaller around the waist than they should be. Next time I'll just order a 10 but it just seems a bit stupid that I need to do that. Does anyone else find that shops sometimes make petite clothes smaller on the waist than they should be?

Thread Wrap Necklace - Miss selfridge
Moto Supersoft Leigh Jeans - Topshop
Drop Hem Tunic Tee - Topshop
Florene Leather Jewel Sandal - Miss selfridge
Cascade Cool - Essie

Sorry about the mini rant in this post. I'm on my way back to Nottingham today to do a bit of work, which should be good as I need some pennies. I'm going to be working at the open days for prospective students so if anyone's planing to attend one come say hi? I'll be on an information stand in a lovely bright green t shirt.

How I Clean my Make up Brushes

Hey guys,

I thought I'd show you guys how I clean my make up brushes.
I remember I used to be at a bit of  a loss about how to get them clean. I heard that the Dr Bronner's magic soap was good for cleaning makeup brushes (along with many other things) so a while ago I got a bottle.

So I usually start by filling a glass with hot water.

I then drop a few drops of soap to the water and dunk my brush in. sometimes if it's been a while since I last washed my foundation brush I need to put some soap directly on the brush and give it a bit of a work with my fingers.

I then rinse the brush off in another glass of clean water.

Then I lay the brushes out on an old towel to dry.

Voila nice clean brushes :)

How do you guys clean your brushes?

How often do you clean your brushes?

I'm a bit naughty and often forget to do them for ages.

Review - No7 Beautiful Skin Hot Cloth Cleanser

Hey Guys,
As you all know I got this a few weeks ago in my mega haul from Boots which you can see here. I’ve given them all a good test drive and feel I can give you all some detailed reviews.

The first one I'm going to review is probably my favourite. It is the No 7 hot cloth cleanser. Obviously I had heard a lot about the Liz Earl cleanse and polish hot cloth cleanser but to be honest I didn’t know there were others out there. So when I saw this one and I had a voucher I thought I’d give it a go. I haven’t tried the Liz Earl one so can’t compare, however I have heard that the muslin cloth might be slightly nicer with the Liz Earl one.

What it says on the box
No7 Beautiful Skin Hot Cloth Cleanser has been created to provide tailored skin nutrition for healthy looking, bright and beautiful skin.
Enjoy the luxury of a spa facial in your own home. The combination of this rich indulgent cleanser and the gentle exfoliating muslin cloth removes dead skin cells and daily grime whilst stimulating circulation, leaving your skin deeply clean, soft and radiant.

The No 7 cleanser is a thick cream that you rub onto dry skin and then gently polish off with a hot muslin cloth which comes with the cleanser.

Because my skin is so oily I wanted to carry on using my oil balancing cleanser so I use the hot cloth cleanser about 5 times a week usually in the evenings.

What I think of the product
I’ve been using it for about 3 weeks now and I have noticed an improvement of the texture of my skin. I don’t really suffer from break outs but I do get some dry skin build up around my nose, and this has completely disappeared since using the hot cloth cleanser. I was previously exfoliating about 3-4 times a week but this is no longer needed due to the gentle exfoliation of the muslin cloth.

The cleanser is moisturising and exfoliating and leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth, it is also a great cleanser working very well at removing the excess oil from my face.

So will I buy again?
The cleanser costs £10 and if you have a No7 voucher that they are giving away at the moment you can get it for £5 which is amazing. I find that one pump is enough and I think that the bottle will last me for a very long time.
I will definitely be repurchasing a hot cloth cleanser I have been completely converted and can see what all the hype is about, I might give the Liz Earl one a try next time although I would happily get the No7 one again as it has worked so well.

Have any of you tried this cleanser? What do you think of it compared to the Liz Earl one?

OOTD - Topshop Blouse

Hey guys,
This is my first proper OOTD post. Hopefully there will be a lot more to come as I went a bit mad with the online shopping last night. I thought I'd take the opportunity to take some photos in my mum's pretty garden in the sun.

I really wanted to put a brown belt with the shorts but I left it at uni.

Top - Topshop
Shorts - Misguided
Necklace - ebay

This top is one of my favourites, I just love the purples that are in it. I also really like the shorts, although they're a little too short to wear without tights in my opinion. I am just not comfortable with having a cheeky bum cheek on full show.

Do you like this sort of post?

My week in Pictures #7

Hey guys,
Hope everyone's had a great week. I was at my boyfriend's for most of it which was lovely. We played tennis and ate lots of yummy food :). I got my 2nd year results on Friday and I got  first which I was over the moon with. I'm back at home now, my mum came and picked my boyfriend and I up today and drove the 4 hours back to Kent. I don't get to come home very much due to the distance so it's nice to be back and my Dad's cooking a roast as we speak :). My house at uni is very quiet at the moment as most people have gone home. My housemate Amanda has gone to Spain for the summer to do a language course there and I miss her very much but hopefully I'll see her soon. I'll be very upset if she is way more tanned than me though.

Tickets to Kevin Bridges sooo excited / I Finally have a Zingy Picture / Tennis with the Bf / My Boyfriend's Cat Tigger / Driving home / Homemade Birthday Cake

I'm looking forward to watching the football tonight with my family with a few Beers :). I hope we win. have you all had good weeks?

Thusday Wishlist Home edition

Hey Everyone,
Hope you've been enjoying the weather, I have I even got a bit sun burnt yesterday, ooops. This week's wishlist is things I would love to decorate my home with. At the moment I am in no place financially to buy nice things for my student house so it's just a dream right now. But I love all the pastel colours and vintage themes happening right now. I have to walk through John Lewis to get to the bus stop in town and I just wish I could buy the whole shop. I'm a bit of a loser I know so sorry if this post is a bit boring for some people but I think these things are so cute.

I especially love the Hokey Cokey sign, and I really want some peach tea to drink cold in the summer.

My Favorite Eye Creams - Review

Hey guys
I've just finished packing to go to my boyfriend's for a few days. I thought I'd do a quick post as I'm not sure if I'll have time whilst I'm there. This is a post about a few eye creams that I have been trying out lately. I have a few fine lines under my eyes and they can sometimes become quite dark so eye creams are things I use everyday to keep my eyes from looking tired.

No Old Bags Allowed Anatomicals Eye Gel
This is definitely the lightest of the creams and really it's more of a gel. It's very light and refreshing and does make my skin feel tighter however I don't think I can see any visible improvements to the under eye area. However I love the packaging of this brand it's so bright and eye catching. I bought this from John Lewis for about £3 so it's a very reasonable price. I use this often throughout the day to wake my eyes up.

No7 Awakening Eye Gel
This is again a very light gel, I kept this on my desk during exam time and it definitely helped keep the puffiness of my eyes down. My boyfriend even commented that for how much sleep I was getting my eyes didn't look too tired so that's good :). I'm not sure if they sell this at boots since No7 has had a revamp, they might have renamed it? It was about £9 when I got it and I think I used a voucher so it was onlu £4 which is great. It's more expensive than the Anatomicals one but I can definitely see why.

Clinique All About Eyes
This is definitely my favourite product for improving the overall colour of the skin under my eyes. It gets rid of dark circles very well and also softens the skin. It's somewhere in between a gel and a cream so it's very lightweight. I try to put this on every night and when I wake up I can see the difference. I have a 7ml sample that my nan gave me but it has lasted me a very long time. A full size version is 15 ml and costs £23 which is very steep but if you're looking for an eye cream that really works I'd definitely recommend this one.

No7 Protect and Perfect Beauty Serum
Now I know this isn't technically an eye cream but I had a small sample version and I didn't think it was quite suitable for my skin. I decided to use it under my eyes to see if it could improve the fine lines as I think it is designed to improved the appearance of wrinkles on more mature skin. It definitely improved the lines, I use it along side the Clinique cream and I have noticed a vast improvement of the skin under my eyes. It is £21 for 30 ml.

So to sum up. The first two gels and great to use in the day if you feel your eyes looking tired, I definitely prefer the No7 gel though. The Clinique and the No7 serum I usually use in the evening before I go to bed to work their magic whilst I sleep. Also none of these are scented which I think is very nice

From left to right No7 Awakening eye gel / No7 Perfect and Protect Serum / Clinique all About eyes / Anatomicals no Old Bags Allowed

Have any of you tried any of these? what did you think?

Review - No7 Beautiful skin Collection for oily skin

Hey guys
Hope everyone's had a good day despite the weather. My boyfriend and I went to play tennis but as soon as we got there it absolutley tipped it down and we got soaked, so that wasn't a very successful outing. Although we decided to make a chocolate cake instead which is very yummy :).

Today I have a review for you that I have been meaning to do for aaaages. I probably bought these products back in Febuary some time and just haven't gotten around to writing this review. The products I'm talking about are, The No7 Beautiful skin foaming cleanser and the No7 beautiful skin day cream. I bought both in the range that was for oily skin because as you all know my skin is oily to the max. So anyway lets get down to the review.

No7 Beautiful skin Foaming cleanser for oily / Normal skin
No7 beautiful skin

No7 beautiful skin
No7 beautiful skinWhat it says on the bottle - "Created to help your oily skin behave like normal skin and provide tailored skin nutrition for healthy looking bright and beautiful skin"

What I think - The wash itself being a foam has such a light feeling to it, it feels like it is dissolving all my makeup but at the same time it feels so light and gentle on my skin.
This is definitely my favourite aspect of the wash. Oh and also it smells so fresh and that is exactly what I want when I wake up in the mornings.
One pump is all that's needed and obviously is has lasted me a very long time. Part of the reason might be that I accidentally left it at uni when I went home for easter. I was at home for 2 weeks over easter and during that time I used a Nivea for young skin wash and it completely dried out my skin so I was so relieved to get back to my No7 wash.

Obviously there is not going to be a magic fix for my oily skin and I wasn't expecting my skin to start behaving like normal skin, ( in my dreams), however I have noticed positive step towards my face not being like the inside of a deep fat fryer.. yay. To be completely honest I love this face wash. It gets rid of all the oil without over drying or irratiting my skin and I have definitely noticed an improvement on the overall condition of my skin. I will be repurchaseing it when I run out as it is my favourite face wash ever.

No7 beautiful skin Day cream for oily / normal skin

What I think - This moisturiser has a very creamy texture and smells similar to the face wash. It sinks into your skin instantly and feels very light for such a thick cream. it contains SPF 15 which I think is very important in a moisuriser. I really like the design of the tub as it means you can get all of the product out, I get very frustrated with always having a little bit stuck in the end of a tube. The moisturiser goes a long way, as you can see I still have a lot left and I use it nearly everyday, however, I don't use a massive amount as my skin is very oily anyway.

Overall I'm not as smitten by this product as I am the face wash, I feel there are still other moisturisers out there that might fufill my needs better, but until I find them this is a great moisturiser.

Both these products are available from Boots, the face wash costs £9.00 and the day cream costs £12.50 and at the moment they are 3 for 2. Boots are also giving away a five pound off No7 voucher at the moment :). I really like the look of the beautiful skin range from Boots, the packaging is simple yet attractive and the pastel colours they have used are lovely.

have any of you tried these products? what did you think of them?

NOTD elf Mint Green nail polish

Hey guys

Thought I'd post a quick NOTD before I start getting ready to go out tonight. For the first time since exams :).  This is the nail varnish I got in my elf haul here. I love the colour but you definitely need two coats. The consistancy isnt great however it was only £1.50 so you can't really go wrong. It did last for a good amount of time though even without a top coat. I might repurchase a nail varnish from elf again if they have a colour that I love, but I think if I could get the colour from somewhere else for a couple more pounds and it would be better quality I would.

Hope you like. Did everyone have a nice weekend?

I'm back and am armed with a Boots haul

Hey guys

So exams my exams have finally finished and I'm free to blog again. I'm sorry I haven't posted in so long but I have barely even had time to eat and sleep.

Unfortunately due to the stress of exams I have been neglecting my body. Consequently a trip to boots was needed, so the first thing I did after I finished (after having  few drinks at the pub of course) was stock up on beauty products. I was a bit shocked when I got to the till at Boots and it came to £70 ooops.

But anyway here is my haul.
Aussie 3 minute miracle

I can't believe this but when I finished exams I hadn't conditioned my hair in over a week. I ran out of conditioner half way through exams and didn't have time to go to the shops to get anymore so my hair was a mess. Therefore when I went to Boots conditioner was high on my list.
I love Aussie conditioner and it was on offer 3 for £10 which I was very happy about. I chose the two 3 minute miracle ones as my hair was in desperate need of some repair. I then got the mega shampoo as it says reduces build up. I've been looking for a shampoo which reduces build up for a while now so I thought this one would be a good one to get.
Real techniques core collection
Now I've been wanting these brushes for aaaages as I've heard so many good things about them so I'm very excited to use them. I also decided to get L'Oreal extraordinary oil. I really want Moroccan oil but it's a little too pricey for me and I've heard some good things about this cheaper alternative. So I'm going to give it a go.
No7 beautiful skin hot cloth cleanser
I also had a No7 voucher and they are 3 for 2 at the moment so I decided to take advantage of that. I've nearly ran out of my current face wash so I was looking for a new one. I was originally intending to get another bottle of the one I am currently using which is the No7 beautiful skin foaming cleanser for oily skin. I really like it but the hot cloth cleanser just caught my eye. I've read a lot of good things about the Liz Earl hot cloth cleanser so I thought I'd give this one a go.
I then also got a micro-dermabraision exfoliator, I'm not sure if it's good for my skin but I needed a new exfoliator so I got it. For the third product I got the pore refining serum this claims to reduce the appearance of pores and I think works well as a primer. My pores are my main problem on my face so this product seems great for me.
I then got a dot face cloth because I though it was cute, some hair grips and cotton wool pads which are a necessity for me

I'm so glad to be back blogging I've missed it so much and I feel so out of the loop. I'm sorry for being away for so long but I've got some posts lined up for you guys. Including reviews of all the products in this haul if you'd be interested?

Thank you to all my followers who have stuck with me I love you all :)
