Five Mini Empties

I don't usually do empties posts because I'm so bad at using things up. Unless it's an absolutely amazing product I tend to get bored of it before I finish it. So this month I set myself the target of using up some of my little samples that were gathering dust in a drawer somewhere. I managed to use up five, so here are my thoughts on them and whether I will be repurchasing them.

1) Essential Care - Organic Rose Moisturiser
I received this sample in my first ever Joliebox last year sometime, I was quite happy to get it as I love the scent of rose. The moisturiser contains organic roses and aloe juice and is supposed to counteract UV damage. The product says it's suitable for all skin types but unfortunately this moisturiser is quite greasy and isn't right for my oily skin. However the brand seems like a good one, I like the organic ingredients and I would be curious to try out some other products from their range.

2) Avéne Cleanance K Cream Gel
I received this sample from the Avene website after I entered some details about my skin. I have oily/combination skin and this product was sent to me along with a cleanser. I was unsure what this product actually did at first but after a little research I realised that it was a chemical exfoliator. it contains AHA and BHA which gently exfoliate the skin and unblock pores. I applied it to my face every evening for about a week and saw amazing differences. My overall skin tone improved dramatically and all my blemishes disappeared. Needless to say I went out and bought the full size straight away and will be writing a full review on it soon.

3) The Body shop - Seaweed Matifying Day Cream
I bought this small size from the body shop in the summer and didn't like it at first. I decided to start using it every day under my makeup and after a while the amount of oil on my face reduced. By lunchtime my nose would be coated in oil however now there is a lot less of it. the moisturiser has a gel texture and smells quite fresh. At first I was worried that it wasn't giving my face the moisture it needed but partnered with a more intense moisturiser at night it works perfectly. I've just bought the full size of this product so expect a full review soon.

4) Benefit - The Porefessional
I got this sample in Glamour last year, and to be honest with you I haven't quite finished it. I'm really not sure about the product and I know everyone raves about it but I found it really dried out my skin if I used it every day. However, saying that it does what it says on the tin. I have quite large pores and it really reduces the size of them. I have decided that  can’t use it every day due to what it does to my skin so I use it only when I need to look my absolute best. I won't be repurchasing this as it's a bit too expensive for me at the moment.

5) Avéne Cleanance Gel
This is a cleansing gel that you apply to a wet face, massage in and rinse off. Gel cleansers are my favourite kind and this one was very pleasant. Sadly it wasn't anything special, it left my skin feeling clean and fresh and had a nice scent but I wasn't blown away by this product and I wouldn't purchase the full size version.

Have you tried any of these products?

Lots of Love

  1. Avene's Cleanance Gel is my HG cleanser for almost 15 years, I can't rave about it enough!! The Seaweed is the moisturizer I'm using for a couple of months and I love it, I actually purchased it twice!
