My top products for under £10 - FOTD

Hey guys,
A while ago I did a post about my favourite products that were under £5 and I promised you I'd be doing another one about my products for under £10 and a few months later here it is. I'll also be doing another one with my favourite high end products.

When I saw everyone raving about this foundation I went straight out and bought it. I love my Double wear foundation but sometimes I just fancy something that isn't so heavy on my skin. The Nearly Naked foundation does what it says on the tin it provides good coverage without making me feel like I want to claw the foundation off my face and at £8.99 it's such a great bargain. I'm definitely going to pick up one of the darker shades for summer.

I've done a full review of this blush here and I just absolutely love this range, they're so cute and handy. I love the warm glow this colour gives you and I think it's great for everyday wear. I'm hopefully going to pick up a few more colours soon because I think they're

great value for money and there's usually some sort of offer on.

3) Garnier Roll On - Anti - Dark Circles - £5.33
This is my go to concealer for under my eyes and it's the first thing I put on every morning. I wouldn't say that this has particularly heavy coverage however it's really good for evening out the skin tone under your eyes before you apply foundation.

I was lucky enough to win this lipstick in a competition on twitter, I'd never tried any makeup by Avon before but I love this lipstick. I probably wouldn't have tried this sort of colour by myself but I think it's great for if you want something bold but not too bold if you get what I mean. It also smells gorgeous and at the moment there's an offer across the range which makes them two for £10.

This is the only non makeup item on this list but I couldn't not give it a mention. Before I had this brush I was such a blusher noob that I could never make it look good. This brush makes applying blush effortless and you get a great blend and finish every time. I know everyone raves about real techniques brushes but I think this is a must for anyone's collection and it won't break the bank either.

And here is the face I created using these items.

I hope you've enjoyed this post and hopefully soon I'll post about my favourite high end items.

500 Follower Giveaway

Hey guys,
Sorry I've been a bit absent over the past few days but it's that time of year again where deadlines and exams are looming. But I have some very exciting news, a few days ago I reached 500 followers and I couldn't be happier.

I can't believe my little blog has grown so much over the past year and I'd like to thank all my followers, old and new for supporting me. So to say thank you I've decided to hold a giveaway and the prize will be a MAC lipstick of your choice!

The only thing you have to do is follow my blog on GFC and then there are some other options you can do on the rafflecopter widget for extra entries.

The giveaway will run until the 3rd of June as that's the day of my last exam and when I will be free to go out and buy the colour you choose. I know it's a long time to run a giveaway but because I'm going to be so busy with exams soon I just wouldn't have the time to go out and buy the lipstick.

This giveaway is open internationally :).

Good luck and thank you again

Monthly splurge #1 - MAC Blush - Peaches

Recently I've been looking through my collection of beauty related items and realised how much I appreciate the few high end products that I own. Now don't get me wrong, I love drugstore products and think you can find some real gems, however I've realised if you add up the amount I've spent on lower range products (that I've only bought because I've been too stingy to buy the more expensive versions) it comes to a lot of money.

I've decided I want to start using that money to buy some higher end products that I'll really love.  So this is the first of a monthly series I've decided to do called Monthly Splurge. Each month I'll pick a product which is between £10 and £20 that I would usually back away from telling myself I can't afford it and put my foot down and splurge. I'm also going to try and stop spending my money on lesser products that I find in drug stores and buy just because it’s good value.

This month's product is a MAC blusher, a few months ago I made my first MAC purchase a lipstick and since then it has been my favourite lipstick in my collection. After loving my lipstick so much I decided to invest in a blusher, my blusher collection is decidedly lacking on the peachy colours so I settled on Peaches which as the name suggests is a pure peach colour.

I chose peaches because I'd read on some blogs that it was a good colour for pale skin. Peaches is a sheertone blush and means it offers very buildable colour which is perfect for lighter skinned girls. It offers such a warm healthy glow that it is perfect for the lovely spell of warm weather we're having and I can tell this is going to be my favourite blusher for this summer.

The formula is silky smooth and so easy to blend, making it apply perfectly every time, and the build ability makes it easy to control the depth of colour you want on your cheeks which stops me looking like a clown.  It's a matte powder so works perfectly on my oily skin and lasts for most of the day, it's just such a natural colour I can't imagine this not looking lovely on anyone.

The blush cost £17.50 which is quite steep however I know I'm going to love and cherish this blush and to me it's completely worth it. I think you always need a few items that are special so that you can look and feel special when you're wearing them. I'm glad I splurged on this item and I can't wait to decide what to splurge on next month. The blush is available on the MAC website here or in store.

What would you splurge on?

Holiday Photo Diary

I thought I'd share a few photos with you guys from my holiday. My boyfriend and I really wanted to get away for a week before exams started so we booked a lovely break to Majorca for a week. I fond this holiday on Ice Lolly. I have heard some bad things from this site but I've used them twice now and both times we've had an amazing problem free holiday.

This time we stayed in a resort called Cala Egos, which is a 20 minute walk from Cala D'or. The resort itself was quite quiet as it was so early in the season which was perfect for us. We had a lovely room overlooking the pool and the hotel itself was really nice, probably the nicest we've ever stayed in.

The view from our balcony, unfortunately the pool was too cold to swim in but some people were brave enough.

On the way to Cala D'Or there was an amazing marina. It made my boyfriend and I want a boat so much
Fish in the Marina
Handmade Pizzas in the Hotel Resturant
Cute menu written on the wall of a resturant
one of the days we rented a car a drove to Palma to go to the aquarium. It was such a nice day and was great to have the freedom to drive around the island. We drove past some beautiful scenery and now all I want to do it go live there.
The resturant in our resort did all you can eat ribs, being the meat lover I am we had to go try them. They were amazing and sooo huge, I could only manage one rack but the Boyfriend worked his way through two and then had dessert!
On the last day we went to one of the resturants along the marina, there was such a pretty view and the food was delicious. we had lamb kebab which came presented so nicely and cheesecake for dessert.

Barry M Gelly nail polish in Satsuma on my toenails. Sorry it's a bit chipped it was on the last day.

So overall we had a lovely holiday. I would definitely recommend going to Majorca although I imagine it's busy in high season. the weather in April was perfect, not too hot but hot enough that you could sunbathe and I even gained a bit of colour :). It was so lovely to get some sun and we spend a few of the days just sunbathing on our balcony.

I hope you enjoyed this post.

Nottingham Bloggers Meet

This week has been a pretty good week as far as they go. I spent the first half relaxing in sunny Majorca and yesterday I had an amazing day at the Notts Blogger’s meet. I’d like to start this post by saying a massive thank you to Sophia and the other bloggers for organising the meet, the day was so much fun and everything seemed to go so smoothly thanks to your organising skills.

I live in Nottingham so when I heard the met was going to be there I was so excited, we met at eleven in market square and luckily for me it was only a short walk away from my house. I was pretty nervous as this was my first time meeting other bloggers, but I had nothing to worry about as everybody was so nice and friendly.

We had a nice wonder around all the shops and Lucy convinced me to make a cheeky purchase in MAC, I also bought a nice blouse in H&M. We did the town in sections which was a great plan as it meant we got to do all the shops and still stick together as a group.

We were also lucky enough to go to Kiel’s and have a skin consultation, Kiel’s is such a lovely shop, everything was laid out so nicely and we were greeted with cupcakes and champagne. The lady who gave me my consultation was so friendly and although I didn’t buy anything all the products were amazing. I was so tempted by the midnight concentrate but I decided my bank balance just could handle it.

After a long day of shopping we all piled into TGI’s to fill our stomachs and we were greeted by massive goody bags! We were all in shock with how generous the brands had been, and I would like to say thank you to all the brands who contributed. After spending a good few minutes rummaging in the massive bags we were still nowhere near the bottom so I slipped mine into my bag for life and ordered a yummy raspberry daiquiri. I ordered a cheeseburger and was not disappointed, it was my first visit to TGI’s and will definitely be going back soon!

All in all It was an amazing day, I’m so happy I finally got to meet some lovely bloggers, and hopefully I’ll be able to see some of you again soon.

Lots of Love

Holiday Buys and OOTD

Hey guys

If you're wondering why I haven't posted for a while it’s because I've been on holiday J woooo. As I mentioned before the boyfriend and I decided to book a last minute holiday to Majorca. I was intending on scheduling a couple of posts for when I was away but tbh with you I just wasn't in the mood. I had my fourth driving test the day before we went away and as you can imagine I was pretty nervous about it so blogging was not high up on the to do list. Fortunately I PASSED! I was so happy having failed three times already I was  putting it up on a pedestal and getting myself too worked up about it but it all turned out fine, I passed and was all ready to have an amazing holiday.

I’m going to do a separate post with a little photo diary if people would like that? There were some really pretty places out there and was a lovely break from cold rainy England.

I did a bit of shopping before I left and bought a few summery bits to take with me so this is kind of a holiday haul post.

The main thing I wanted to get was a bikini, I took a trip to TkMaxx and they had some lovely summer bits in. I bought the bikini and the bag from there and both were £10 which I think is such a great price. I fell in love with the bikini the moment I saw it, I just loved the colourful design.

I also took a trip to Primark which is essential when you’re going on holiday, I bought the sandals, the sunglasses, the necklace and also the white dress I'm wearing in the picture. The sandals were a bargain at £4, I wore them every day of the holiday and they were actually pretty comfy.

I also bought the Barry M Gelly nail varnish in Satsuma because I think it’s the perfect colour for sunny holidays, it’s such a gorgeous colour and I think I’m going to be wearing it all summer. Last but not least I bought some magazines to read while soaking up the rays again these are definitely an essential.

This is me in Majorca wearing the dress I bought from Primark, It was only £5! they had a few other designs as well so I might go back and get some. I think this is such a pretty dress and it was so comfy and light to wear. It was perfect to slip over your bikini for a day at the beach.

Hope you are all having a nice Easter :).

Lots of Love
