Graze Breakfast Box

If you've read my previous post you'll know I'm a big fan of graze boxes, I like to treat myself to one a month and it's always a lovely little surprise when they come through the door.  When I heard that graze were doing breakfast boxes I was pretty excited. The graze breakfast box contains four porridge portions that you can tailor to your tastes. I love eating porridge in the morning because it keeps you full until lunchtime, but it's always such a faf to measure it out and cook it. Graze take away all of the hassle of cooking it in the morning, you simply pour in the porridge and then add one and a half punnets of milk. There are a range of flavours available, I've tried three so far and they were all delicious. My favourite was the apple and cinnamon which comes with a little portion of honey to sweeten your porridge.  These have definitely brightened up my morning, and although I probably won't get one every week I'm definitely going to get them monthly as a little treat.

If you want to get a free box then use the code YJVYX9R and go to the Graze website (you have to be a graze customer to get this deal)

Weekend Wishlist

Hey guys,
This weekend Rob and I are going down to the new forest to visit his grandparents for the weekend. It's a massive family affair and the two years I've been so far have been lovely. They live in a house surrounded by garden and countryside and so when the weather permits we have a delightful lunch outside.  When I go down I like to have a nice day dress to wear for the lunch which is what this wishlist is centred around. I also want a proper weekend bag, I know it's only two days but I'm always surprised with how much I need. For a weekend away I think s with handles are perfect as sometimes I feel that taking a small suitcase is just a bit too much for two nights. Recently I've discovered Stylight they have a great site and I especially love the 'how to wear' section.  They have a vast selection of weekend bags which includes the one I've featured in my wishlist.
Dress - New Look
Necklace- Topshop
Sandals - Topshop
Nail Polish - Essie

I think this outfit will be perfect for lunching outside with my boyfriend's family I especially love the sandals which are so basic but fit so well. The bag is gorgeous and would have plenty of room to store all of my bits and bobs for the weekend
I hope you all have a lovely weekend too and fingers crossed that the weather is nice!

Outfit Post - Indian Meal

One of my favourite meals to go out for is an Indian, no matter how hard you try you just can' make a curry as yummy as they do in the restaurants. So when I learned that my local Indian did 2 for 1 on a Thursday my boyfriend and I headed on down. We'd never been before but we walk past it everyday after work and it always smells so good.

The lovely weather we're having at the moment meant I finally got to wear a dress that I bought a while ago, I've fallen in love with this dress recently and have been wearing it everywhere. The dress is by glamorous but I found it in TKMaxx, I'm not sure if they'll still have it but there were quite a few when I bought it.

The bag is from primark and it's been one of my favourite buys this summer, my Dad who is a leatherworker and actually hand makes bags even complimented it and that's saying something! Although I'm sure he's not happy that I'm wandering around with a fake leather bag but oh well this ones just so beautiful. The necklace is from H&M and is so adorable, I've been wearing big statement necklaces recently so it's nice to wear something dainty and cute again.

The meal itself was amazing, we ordered two curries to share and of course some peshwari naan which I'd never had before I met my boyfriend but trust me it is delicious I'd definitely recommend it next time you go to an Indian. Rob even went a far as saying it was the best Peshwari naan he'd ever had. The restaurant we went to was called Savera and if you're ever in the Nottingham area I would highly recommend it, it does great food and even without the 2 for 1 offer it's very reasonably priced.

July Magazine Freebie - Balance Me

I don't often blog about magazine freebies but this month was so good I just couldn't resist. Glamour is offering a choice of 4 Balance me products, and as I'm such a massive fan of Balance me I had to grab some.

You can choose between a face wash, moisturiser, lip balm. and some body wash. I wanted them all so it was hard to decide but the face was is actually one I already use daily and absolutely adore. I was actually starting to run low so I picked up two spares for only £4! I thought one could replace my old one when it runs out and the other one is absolutely perfect for traveling.

I've already mentioned this but my boyfriend and I are backpacking around Europe later on this summer and I've been on the lookout for beauty products I can take with me. It's going to be a bit of a challenge for me as my boyfriend has informed me that we have to travel very light. Anyway this mini face wash is perfect and is going straight in my travel bag ready for our departure.

Have you snapped up any great freebies this month, I'm tempted to try and find some of the body wash!

Clinique Iced Lotus - Review

Hey guys,
Everyone has those makeup items that always manage to find their way to the bottom of the pile. For me it's my Clinique blush in Iced Lotus, it's a gorgeous cool pink colour but one way or another it gets forgotten about.  I think it's because it's so pink it scares me, I don't own many 'proper' pink blushers and to be honest when I look at this blush I start to think of the Barbie dolls I had while I was growing up. However, this blush is actually pretty gorgeous and it's taken a prominent place at the front of my beauty pile over the past few weeks.

Iced Lotus is described on the Clinique website as a blue pink with a white shimmer, maybe it's because this blush is on the cold side of the spectrum that it gets forgotten about. I do actually love the colour, especially now I have a bit of a tan on my face; it gives you the perfect pretty flush. The blush itself is extremely pigmented which means it can be a bit of a pain to apply, but armed with my real techniques blush brush I can achieve the perfect finish without using too much. The shimmer gives a subtle glow and makes it perfect to team with some bright lipstick without overdoing it. The shimmery particles means that it also gives a bit of a highlighting effect without looking too sparkly.

Overall I need to stop neglecting this blush, it has amazing pigmentation and staying power and I need to branch out of my peachy comfort zone and start getting the confidence to wear it more often.

Iced Lotus is available on the Clinique website here or Boots here

Do you guys have makeup items like this or is it just me?

Beauty Haul

Yesterday I took advantage of the nice weather and went shopping; I haven't been shopping properly since before exams so a haul was way overdue. I was a girl on a mission with some serious dinero to be spent.

I've heard some great things about the salon pro nail polishes and these were high up my list for the day so when I saw in Boots they were buy one get one half price I was so pleased.  I decided on the shades Summer Orange which is the perfect bright shade for summer and Jazz funk.

I was reading Amy's blog and she had recommended the Dove leave in conditioner, I thought it looked really good and I'm a sucker for new hair products as I'm forever trying to improve the condition of my hair. I decided on the intensive repair version as it claims to prevent breakage and split ends, perfect for me.

When I first heard about the Nivea in shower body moisturiser I thought it would just be another gimmick, however I have been hearing some god things about it so I thought I'd give it a go and it was even on offer in Boots.

Something I've been lusting after for a long time is the Clarins Liquid Bronze Self Tanning lotion, and it's my splurge for this month. I love to give my face a top up of subtle tan and I feel that it really evens out my skin tone, the only problem is that I don't like putting heavy moisturisers on my face so I hope that this is the light texture it promises.

My Razor of choice at the moment is the Wilkinson Sword Hydro Silk, I have real trouble with shaving rash and this razor seems to have calmed it down which is a god send.

I can't wait to use all of these and tell you all if they're worth buying J.

I hope you're all enjoying the sunshine

Camping in the Peak District

Hey guys,
After exams my friends and I went on a little camping trip to the peak district. Camping is always something I've loved so I'm so grateful to have a group of friends who also enjoy camping. We stayed on a farm near a place called Edale, we were so lucky with the weather and it was the perfect way to unwind after the exam period. We went on some lovely walks and then just chilled with some cards in the evenings.

On the Thursday we loaded up the car to bursting and with me in the front attempted to navigate to the campsite. We had a veteran peak districter with us but even so there was a bit of a swerve off the motorway when we nearly missed our exit.

We stopped in Bakewell and I had my first ever Bakewell pudding which I have mixed feelings about, I really enjoyed the taste but the texture kind of freaked me out slightly. After our puddings and tea we walked to Chatsworth and sat and had a picnic in front of the house.

My boyfriend had booked the campsite and had assured us girls that there were showers and toilets, so naturally when we got there I was keen to check out the standard of these facilities. My dear boyfriend started leading me towards a very dodgy looking building, he opened the door for me to look in and I was horrified to see one dark, grim toilet and a lot of cobwebs. One look at where he'd brought me and the worry on his face started to show, thankfully these were the old toilet blocks and there was actually a very nice shower block further up the field. Now I don't think I'm massively high maintenance but 3 full days walking in 20 degree heat definitely required showers so it was lovely that we could freshen up after the day. The campsite we stayed at was called upper booth farm and I would definitely recommend it, it's not too busy and is the perfect distance away from civilisation. It's in a beautiful valley and only a 30 minute walk away from Edale I would recommend this for families especially but also for groups of people who just want to have a bit of a chilled getaway with some beautiful views, you can even get fresh eggs in the morning from their chickens!

Overall we had a great time and I got a lovely tan which was an added bonus. At our campsite there wasn't any signal so I just kept my phone off for the whole time and that was such a nice break.  The only makeup I took with me was some mascara and the Khiels BB cream and that was mainly because it contains factor 50 SPF which was a lifesaver.

Hope you like the pictures

Holiday Books

Holiday books
I don’t get the chance to read as much as I’d like to while I’m at uni, however, when I’m on holiday I practically eat books. This holiday was no exception I got through six books so I thought I’d give you a little overview of what I thought of them.
1)      The Maze Runner Trilogy –
I picked up this book because I’d heard it was good if you liked the hunger games. I loved the Hunger games and I don’t like to read anything to taxing while I’m on holiday so I thought this would be a good choice. I started it the day before I left and before I knew it I was finished. I knew I had to have the other two to read while I was away so I got my hands on them straight away.

The first book begins with a boy called Thomas arriving in a place called the glade with his memories wiped. The glade is home to about 50 adolescent boys and surrounded by a maze. The book revolves around Thomas and his friends trying to solve the mystery of the maze.
Now I don’t want to give too much away about the other two books but I will say that once you’ve read the maze runner you’ll be addicted so make sure you have the other two books ready to pick up when you’ve finished.

2)      Cloud Atlas
I saw the trailer for the film version of this book and thought it sounded really good so I decided to pick the book up. I have to say I was very disappointed, I found it hard to get through because I wasn’t really interested with it tbh. The idea of the book is that as you travel through the ages everybody is linked somehow and people are reincarnated as you go through time. The idea itself looks good on paper however it didn’t really work out. I was pretty bored by this book and probably wouldn’t recommend it. The film was possibly een worse.

3)      The Thread
I love books that are set in foreign countries and this was no exception, set in a coastal city in Greece the thread is full of beautiful descriptions and characters that draw you in. It follows the life of a boy and a girl who both get tangled up in the Second World War. Before reading this book I didn’t realise how Greece was affected during the war, I’m really glad I read it as I actually learnt quite a lot from it. I would definitely recommend reading this book, I think it’s really well written and you can really lose yourself in the beautiful Greek city.

4)      The Kashmir shawl

This is probably my favourite of all the books I read, it always left m guessing what was going to happen and was full of twists and turns. It's about a girl who discovers a shawl and a lock of hair in her parents' house that belonged to her grandmother who was a welsh missionary in India. It paints a colourful and striking picture of India and I love all the description. The book is very well written and switches from the granddaughter to the grandmother as the story progresses. This book has made me want to visit India and will transport you to the sights and smells the county has to offer.

Have you read any good books lately? I've already got a pile accumulating for my next holiday!
